Voting System Certification Hearing Set for Tuesday, July 25, 2017

Boise, Idaho — Secretary of State Lawerence Denney today announced a Voting System Certification Hearing for the ES&S EVS 5.2.2.0 Voting System with the DS450 ballot scanner and tabulator.

A public demonstration and certification hearing will be held Tuesday, July 25 beginning at 9:00 am in the JR Williams Building East Conference Room Across from the Capitol Building at 700 West State Street.

The public is invited to participate and comment on the features of the voting system.

The EVS 5.2.2.0 voting system was certified by the Federal Election Assistance Commission in February 2017. Voting Systems must be certified by the Secretary of State before use in Idaho pursuant to section 34-2409 of the Idaho Code.

Secretary Denney said, “Any citizen who would like to participate in the hearing process is invited to attend. Public comment is important and appreciated when we examine a voting system that counts our votes.”
