Vermont State Police were informed by numerous tips from the public that a suspicious male was seen riding an adult-sized tricycle, with a wire basket behind the seat, from house to house on Vermont Route 30 in the Town of Cornwall, in a southern direction. The male was captured on surveillance video cameras at approximately 0221 hours, rummaging through multiple unlocked vehicles, and leaving a residence on a tricycle. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall and was wearing a light colored baggy jacket, with dark colored pants. The suspect would park his tricycle on the shoulder of the roadway, search any and all unlocked vehicles that were parked both in driveways and unlocked garages, return to the tricycle and pedal it to the next residence, repeating the process. Among the stolen items were loose change, designer sunglasses, wallets, purses, cash, credit cards and a set of house keys. The male remains unidentified at this time, any assistance in the identification would be much appreciated.

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 12/12/2020, the Vermont State Police received a report of multiple break-ins  to motor vehicles as well as garages along Vermont Route 30 in the Town of Cornwall. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of 12/12/2020.  The Vermont State Police is requesting assistance with any information regarding the identification of the offender.
