Request for Proposals: Grant Opportunities for Advocacy, Transportation and Innovative Ideas
The Alabama Council on Developmental Disabilities (ACDD) is pleased to announce that we are requesting proposals for initiatives that support self advocacy and/or advocacy initiatives, transportation and innovative ideas.
Self Advocacy and/or Advocacy Initiatives
ACDD seeks to support the formation or strengthening of self-advocacy organizations, programs or activities led by individuals with disabilities. Projects should be designed to strengthen the efforts of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to advocate for systems change and improve an organization’s skill set or organizational structure.
RFP Timeline:
Deadline to submit RFP questions or requests for clarification: Friday, October 11, 2019 by 12 p.m. (CDT)
RFP questions posted: Friday, October 18, 2019
RFP submissions due: Friday, November 1, 2019 by 12 p.m. (CDT)
Notification of selection status: Monday, December 16, 2019
Grants proposal estimated start date: Wednesday, January 1, 2020
Transportation
ACDD announces our intent to support projects in the area of transportation. Initiatives could include a variety of activities that demonstrate collaboration with an overall result of a reliable, efficient transportation system to help assure that persons with developmental disabilities have the same opportunities to access their community as others.
Innovative Ideas
Proposals are also being sought for creative ideas from public or private entities. Projects should support advocacy, system change, and/or capacity building for either community inclusion, employment projects, leadership and advocacy training and capacity building.
