Summary:

Tropical Cyclone Idai struck on March 15 the central region of Mozambique, making landfall near the port city of Beira—the country’s second largest—resulting in significant loss of life and widespread damage to crops and physical infrastructure. Flooding has severely damaged transport, commerce and services infrastructure, and substantially disrupted productive capacity, particularly services and agriculture.
