C&G Gallery Welcomes Artist Emmai Alaquiva

My art form is one that transcends the everyday experience. My greatest goal in life has been to tell stories, and I’ve been blessed to have that capability though my medium behind a lens.”
— Mr. Alaquiva
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA, UNITED STATES, May 8, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Business law firm Cohen & Grigsby will feature the work of Emmy Award-winning film director, photographer, and composer, Emmai Alaquiva, as part of the “OpticVoices: Phaces” exhibit presented at the C&G Gallery. “Phaces” highlights the beautiful and distinct faces that make up the fabric of the City of Steel. The public will have the opportunity to view the exhibit from its opening in early May, to its closing in August.

“My art form is one that transcends the everyday experience. My greatest goal in life has been to tell stories, and I’ve been blessed to have that capability though my medium behind a lens. Whether that is a story of a two-year-old boy who simply wants to use his voice, to people from all walks of life that yearn to be a part of something that is bigger than us all,” said Mr. Alaquiva.

“OpticVoices is just that—it is the story of many, but beyond that medium, it is an interactive photography exhibit that requires people to be placed in comfortable situations around uncomfortable conversations. We encourage people from all backgrounds to stop, look at the images, and then talk about the emotions that are evoked.”

Once homeless, Mr. Alaquiva shifted the trajectory of his life's path to become one of the most distinct trailblazers in the arena of creative arts. Today, he is the proud CEO of Ya Momz House, Inc. (an award-winning, multimedia digital agency), director for CBS Sports Network’s Daytime Emmy-nominated TV Show “Game Changers,” and curator of OpticVoices.

Hosting TEDx talks in 2016, Mr. Alaquiva’s work has been seen and heard across the world, through media giants such as CBS, Amazon, and PBS, to projects with Oprah Winfrey, Wiz Khalifa, Martha Stewart, the late Dr. Maya Angelou, and more. Mr. Alaquiva was selected by the City of Pittsburgh to spearhead the Amazon HQ2 pitch video, and was most recently recognized as the 2018 Smart 50 Pittsburgh’s Top CEO and 2017 Fox Rothschild Top CEO.
