Health in Action rolls out streamlined fitness for work assessments to cut costly sickness absence
Businesses struggle to manage long-term sickness absence. Health in Action has created a new way for managers and staff to access Fitness for Work assessments.
Launched under the name EasyACCESS, Health in Action, has said its new accessible and affordable health assessment service saves employers thousands in reducing lost time and maintaining productivity.
Health in Action has developed a 3 tier Occupational Health assessment structure administered through the secure EasyACCESS on-line portal. It is an affordable and accessible fitness for work assessment service conducted by telephone or Skype. It enables staff to connect with a highly qualified Occupational Health professional quickly and easily without the need for time-consuming travel and excessive paperwork.
The service provides a secure referral and report release through the EasyACCESS portal. The employee logs in, books their own appointment, and completes a short health history. This gives the Occupational Health Advisor or Physician more information in advance, enabling them to maximise the appointment time. The health assessment is conducted by a qualified health professional by telephone or Skype and the report is released within 3 working days.
Andrea Martin said: “we’ve been asked if this will be as effective as face-to face case management. Our experience over the last 11 years shows us that over 80% of case management sessions don’t require complex medical assessments. The majority can be addressed with advice from a qualified, experienced health professional.”
“We support HR, line managers and the employee to resolve the issue before it develops into a more serious matter. The quality of the advice is not compromised, and the method of delivery is quick, easy and streamlined.”
“The EasyACCESS service speeds-up and reduces the cost of Occupational Health assessments for businesses both large and small. It enables managers to comply with legal requirements and manage sickness absence more effectively. It reduces long-term and multiple absence, improves productivity and increases staff retention.”
