Cuanza Sul: New Police commander pledges to maintaining security

Sumbe, ANGOLA, March 19 - Issues such as maintenance of public order and security among citizens are deemed priorities of the new commander of National Police in the coastal province of Cuanza Sul. ,

The commissioner José Alexandre Manuel Canela made the pledge Monday during his introduction to the provincial governor Job Castelo Capapinha and local government officials.

The ceremony was presided over by the General Commander of National Police,Paulo de Almeida, on behalf of the Interior Minister Ângelo da Veiga Tavares.

 

He promised to work hard with youth, churches and traditional authorities to transmit the message of prevention.

The new commander said "if the prevention becomes a reality, there will be fewer people in the jails." The achievement of this goal entails combined efforts of all forces in order to win the battle.

  In turn, the general Commander of National Police Paulo de Almeida said he hopped that the new police commander play his role with  dedication, sacrifice and determination.

We live in a situation of public security that deserves attention, as the police have a very important role in maintaining the order public tranquility: So it is up to us to ensure safety in this process," said the Chief Commissioner.   The new commander of Cuanza Sul José Alexandre Manuel Canela, 58, was born in the municipality of  Golungo Alto, northern Cuanza Norte province.
