Huambo: Militants quit CASA-CE coalition
Caála, ANGOLA, March 12 - Some 3,600 militants with the opposition CASA-CE coalition decided to abandon that political organisation in Caála municipality, central Huambo province.,
The move came in the form of a protest against the recent decision made by the Constitutional Court to unseated its leader, Abel Chivukuvuku, from the top job of the coalition.
Speaking to Angop on Monday, the then local secretary of the coalition, Adelino Severino Cabral, said the supporters do not agree with the political agenda of the recently appointed leader, André Mendes de Carvalho.
He regretted that should the crisis continue the country’s third largest political organisation, behind of the ruling MPLA and opposition UNITA parties, risk losing its militants and sympathizers.
“It is sad to see how CASA-CE is fishing. All militants have decided to support for the ousted leader Abel Epalanga Chivukuvuku, who was instrumental in creation of coalition”, the politician spoke out.
He said that for the time being CASA-CE will stand idle in this municipality, as the political future of the supporters is pending on ousted leader.
Similar situation happened in the southern Huila province, where the militants expressed their unconditional support for ousted leader, Abel Chivukuvuku.
