FMI_NFMM_More_Matters_InfographicGold Plate Award winner, Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH),and the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) Foundation, partnered this past September to educate more families about the value of shared, produce-packed meals. Together, the campaign fused the benefits of eating more fruits and vegetables with the benefits of more family meals.

“Both PBH and the FMI Foundation have long histories and rich legacies of helping families make smart food choices throughout the day. As partners, we made a greater impact by creating solutions that enhance not only family mealtime but increase fruit and vegetable consumption,” said Wendy Reinhardt Kapsak, MS, RDN, president and CEO, PBH. “Research shows that eating more fruits and vegetables supports healthier, happier lifestyles, and together, we support industry as well as consumers in achieving this goal—at any meal occasion.”

A variety of resources, including 30 minutes or less recipes, ideas for getting kids into the kitchen, and meal plans promoting fruit and vegetable additions to family meals were made available to PBH supporters and influencers on the organization’s website. This effort reached PBH supporters across the supply chain, including the fruit and vegetable industry and retailers.

During the month of September, social media posts on PBH’sFacebook, Twitter and Instagram pages thathighlighted the benefits of fruit and vegetable intake, as well as family meals, reached more than 85,000 consumers. Additionally, these posts had more than 870 likes, 130 reposts/shares and 18 comments.

PBH and the FMI Foundation made a joint infographic that explainedthe benefits of more fruit and vegetables as well as the benefits of morefamily meals. Thiswasavailable on the PBH website, which has more than 325,000 site visitors per month.
