General Hospital of Luanda improves services
Luanda, ANGOLA, February 17 - An allocation of USD 1.5 million will be applied this year in the acquisition of new equipment and in the improvement of the services of assistance to patients of the General Hospital of Luanda (HGL).,
The amount, which will be given by the Government this month, will be applied to the acquisition of X-ray machines, monitors and the improvement of orthopedic, physiotherapy, cardiology, among others, said Saturday the director general of the hospital, Carlos Zeca.
Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of a visit by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, to that hospital, he stressed the importance of the endowment, since some equipment is inoperative.
He said that among the defective material is a floroscopy device (it allows visualizing the state of the uterine cervix, the fallopian tubes and the digestive tract), and that of anjography, which evaluates the blood vessels.
According to the manager, these were some of the difficulties presented to the President of the Republic during the field visit.
The General Hospital of Luanda, with an area of five hectares, has four emergency banks and guarantees medical care for hospitalized patients, as well as external consultations from Monday to Friday.
Of the services provided by the hospital, built in 2006 and rehabilitated six years later, are also surgical (ten surgeries / day) and consultations in the neighborhoods adjacent to the hospital unit.
