This strategy also provides for the sharing of information and the definition of responsibilities with 38 other African coastal States.

According to Francisco José da Cruz, director of the Directorate for Europe of the Ministry of External Relations, the strategy is fundamental, as more than 90 percent of imports and exports between African nations are done by sea or inland waterway.

Francisco José da Cruz, who spoke on Thursday at the conclusion of a Workshop on the National Maritime Strategy, said that for the year 2019 is scheduled an assessment of the Angolan legal framework on maritime safety.
