Deputy prosecuting office vows to release corruption cases in Malanje

Malanje, ANGOLA, December 9 - The Deputy Prosecutor of the northern Malanje province Lima Caloias has announced the institution’s plan to release by the end of this month (December) the crimes proceedings on the cases of corruption underway in the region. ,

 

Lima Caloias announced this Saturday on the sidelines of a campaign to distribute newsletters to motorists and citizens about corruption, to mark Anti-Corruption Day, on December 09.

 

The Deputy Prosecutor said Malanje province has many offences being investigated.

 

 

The Magistrate, who did not reveal either the numbers or other details, due to security issue and legal confidentiality, said that in due course the Prosecutor Office will announce the names of those involved in those crimes.

 

As for the distribution of booklets, the official said that the move was aimed at raising the awareness of all citizens in promoting ethical values in combat corruption, money laundering and conflicts of interest.

 

Lima Caloias said, on the other hand, that Assistant Prosecutor’s Office is open to the local residents interested in providing any kind of clarification on corruption cases both in the province and in the country.

 

The magistrate appealed to the citizens to denounce such practices.

 

Anti-Corruption Day was instituted by the UN on 9 November, 2003.

 

The date came into force in 2005.
