Luanda, ANGOLA, December 6 - The Cabinet Council last Wednesday analysed several draft-laws relating to the country's first local elections, which are scheduled to take place in the year 2020.,

The said legislative package includes the Draft-Law on Local Elections, Draft-Law on the Organisation and Functioning of Local Governments, Draft-Law on the Institutionalisation of Local Governments, among others.

 

This legislative package will soon be submitted to the National Assembly (Angolan Parliament), as understood from the final communiqué of the Cabinet Council meeting chaired by the Head of State, João Lourenço.

 

The same meeting also analysed draft-laws relating to the criminalisation of certain negative postures while driving a motor-vehicle and the restructuration of the crude-oil sector.
