Ombudsman clarifies citizens about attributions
Luena, ANGOLA, November 15 - The importance and the role played by the Ombudsman in the resolution of complaints and claims of citizens was clarified Thursday in Luena, eastern Moxico province to the population by the incumbent Ombudsman, Carlos Alberto Ferreira Pinto.,
Speaking on the topic "The Ombudsman's mandate and the duty of cooperation of the public authorities", Carlos Alberto Ferreira Pinto said that his function is to give satisfactory results to any disputes that may exist between a public manager and his subordinate.
He continued that if the Ombudsman sends a notification to the public manager and the manager, in turn, does not respond within a period of 40 to 60 days, then it is considered a crime of disobedience, from which a process is carried out accompanied by the Prosecuting Council.
The lawyer also explained that its usefulness is also to verify the conditions of internment, parole and whether or not there is excessive pre-trial detention in a particular prison in the country.
At the time, Carlos Alberto Ferreira Pinto clarified that he does not have "absolute" power in matters that have to do with sovereignty bodies, such as the President of the Republic (PR), National Assembly (AN) and Supreme Court (TS).
