Productive sector stands out in 2019 State Budget
Luanda, ANGOLA, November 15 - The General State Budget (OGE) for the year 2019, which was approved last Wednesday in its general terms by the National Assembly, devotes special attention to the social and productive sectors.
,
This statement was made on Wednesday by the minister of State for Economic and Social Development, Manuel Nunes Júnior, when speaking to MPs at the National Assembly’s Plenary Session that approved the OGE.
The OGE-2019 comprises expenses and revenues amounted at 11.3 billion kwanzas.
Manuel Nunes Júnior explained that social partners and civil society in general have been requesting to get involved in the analysis and drafting of the OGE before its approval by the Executive and this time so it happened.
“We have here a special attention being devoted to the social area, mainly health and education, and also the re-launch of the productive sector, with highlight on agriculture, fundamentally family agriculture for it corresponds to 70 per cent of (the country’s) agricultural production”, emphasised the minister of State.
Manuel Nunes Júnior went on to say that another fundamental aspect is related to the trust in the economy, because without that banks do not grant credit and, without credit there is no development and growth.
He said the Macroeconomic Stabilisation Programme being implemented by the Executive is intended to reinstate trust in the Angolan economy.
The programme, he said, has been bringing about encouraging results.
“(...) We are perfectly in agreement with the idea that for us to be able to resolve the problems of the country we must focus on national production in a sustainable way”, he stressed.
The 2019 General State Budget (OGE) was passed by the MPs, in its general terms, by 124 votes in favour, none against and 57 abstentions.
