Angola, Poland maintain partnership relations - Polish diplomat

Luanda, ANGOLA, November 14 - Diplomatic relations between Angola and Poland reached levels of maturity, which allows them to act as strategic partners in the socio-economic affairs, the Polish ambassador to Angola, Piotr Mysliwiec, said recently in Luanda.,

The diplomat who was speaking to ANGOP, on the occasion of the activities related to celebrations of the 100 years of independence of Poland marked last Sunday, the ambassador said that among the diplomatic representations of his country in Sub-Saharan Africa, Angola is the only one that maintains an uninterrupted relationship since 1976.

Piotr Mysliwiec said that the two countries have privileged cooperation in the economic, scientific and cultural fields, resulting from the solid foundation established by both governments since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

"We see Angola as a partner in all areas of common interests, based on values such as human rights, peacekeeping in the region and worldwide," he said.

As for Poland's investments in Angola, the diplomat highlighted the construction of the Fish and Sea Academy in Namibe.

However, the start of the third phase will take place in 2019 with finishing and installing the supporting facilities like - clinic, library and other services.

He also said that Poland wants to help Angola in the process of diversifying its economy through the transmission of technological knowledge.

The diplomatic relations between the two countries date back from the proclamation of the independence of Angola on November 11, 1975.

It was on November 11, 1918 that Poland reappeared on the map of Europe at the same time as other countries in the Central European region, having been divided between three large neighbors and disappeared from the maps for 123 years.

To celebrate the date, the Polish Embassy in Angola is carrying out cultural activities such as exhibition of Polish films, lectures and exhibition, which will last until December.
