Hotel welcomes Chef Jasen Fontaine to its talented culinary team

LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 31, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa is proud to announce Jasen Fontaine as the hotel’s new Executive Chef. Bringing with him a wealth of culinary knowledge and experience, Chef Jasen now oversees all food and beverage outlets at the property, including world-class catering for the popular hotel in Lexington.

Chef Jasen grew up in Massachusetts and Lower New Hampshire, fishing on his family boat in the Atlantic Ocean. He began working in kitchens during his summer breaks learning as much as he could. After graduating high school, he moved to Colorado to hone his passion for food. Soon, he moved back to the East Coast to attend culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu.

Graduating at the top of his class, Chef Jasen moved to Minnesota and began working as a banquet cook at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center, soon moving up to Executive Sous Chef and eventually on to the Southwest Marriott Minneapolis as the Executive Chef.

Throughout the next few years, Chef Jasen received a number of accolades. He was recognized in a local magazine for his efforts in creating on-property gardens, including a full hydroponic garden system. He also introduced a soda line that he created from scratch. His hard work and innovation paid off resulting in the Top Culinary Innovator award.

Chef Jasen is excited to bring his talents and experience to the Lexington restaurants at Griffin Gate Marriott Resort & Spa. After working in many cities for numerous properties Chef Jasen has formed the belief that food is more important than just something to eat.
