Central Executive transfers competences to provincial governments

Luanda, ANGOLA, October 30 - Some competences of ministerial departments were transferred last Monday, in Luanda, to the provincial governments with the goal to stimulating greater dynamics in the resolution of social problems and preparing the condition for the institutionalisation of local power. ,

 

In this stage ten ministerial departments were selected to transfer some of their competences, namely Health, Fisheries, Environment, Mineral and Resources and Oil, Trade, Education, Industry, Culture, Tourism and Energy and Waters.

 

As an example, in the area of Health it was transferred to the provincial governments the management of hospital equipment.

 

Provincial governments henceforth will also have the competence to issue permits for the minerals exploration sector and licenses for the construction of petrol stations.

 

The competences transfer ceremony was witnessed by the head of the Civil Office of the Angolan President, Frederico Cardoso, and the minister of Territory Administration and State Reform, Adão de Almeida.
