Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis met with Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani today at the Manama Dialogue in Bahrain to reaffirm the longstanding defense relationship between the United States and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The Secretary and Secretary General discussed several pressing regional security challenges, and the continued importance of building upon progress made toward multilateral security cooperation and interoperability.
Secretary Mattis thanked Secretary General Al Zayani for his leadership of this important counterpart organization and tireless work to reinforce defense partnerships within and among the United States and GCC.
