KEMP, Texas, Oct. 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Larson Electronics, long-term leader in the industrial lighting and equipment sector, announced the release of a portable 75KVA power transformer and distribution substation that converts 480 AC three-phase electrical current to three-phase 208Y/120V AC. A maximum of two 30A 480V devices, eight 50 208V devices, six 20A 208V devices and two 20A 120V devices can be connected to this unit. This fully potted transformer is ideal for indoor or outdoor use in hazardous work areas and has a NEMA 3R load center.

The Larson Electronics MGS-2X480.30-75KVA-8X208.50-6X208.20-2X120.20-MOX heavy duty power transformer substation converts 480 AC three phase electrical current to three phase 208Y/120V AC. Operators can connect up to two 30A 480V devices, eight 50A 208V devices, six 20A 208V devices, and two 20A 120V devices. The transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3/16" thick carbon steel mounting platform and the load center/distribution assembly is mounted to the standard 2" x 2" x 1/8" square carbon steel tubing frame, resulting in an extremely stable, durable and well protected power distribution platform. This model is equipped with forklift skid pockets, locking casters, and a top located lifting eyelet allows easy lifting with cable or chain hooks.

The MGS-2X480.30-75KVA-8X208.50-6X208.20-2X120.20-MOX is a heavy-duty transformer that provides operators with a safe way to tap into power outsources outside the work area. This unit has a secondary side that contains eight 50-amp breakers that protect eight 50-amp 208V receptacles, six 20-amp breakers that protect six 20-amp receptacles and two 20-amp 120V breakers that protect two 20-amp duplex receptacles. All receptacles come with waterproof hinged covers and are mounted to a flat plat backboard. This power distribution substation feeds a three-phase 208Y/120V NEMA 3R 225-amp MLO panel.

The ruggedly constructed portable transformer and load assembly is mounted on a 3/16” thick carbon steel mounting platform with the load distribution mounted on a standard 2” x 2” x 1/8” square carbon steel tubing frame. This unit comes with forklift skid pockets, locking casters and lifting eyelet on the top for cable or chain hooks. This transformer is grounded to the frame and a grounding lug on the frame for earth ground is provided. Some ideal uses include shipyard operations, construction sites, plant maintenance, shows, exhibits and plant turnarounds.
