OMA reports a 14.9% increase in September 2018 passenger traffic

The Monterrey (+12.3%), Culiacán (+22.7%), and Chihuahua (+16.7%) airports contributed most to traffic growth
MONTERREY, Mexico, Oct. 08, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mexican airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte, S.A.B. de C.V., known as OMA (NASDAQ: OMAB; BMV: OMA), reports that terminal passenger traffic at its 13 airports increased 14.9% in September 2018, as compared to September 2017. Domestic traffic increased 16.2%, and international traffic increased 4.5%.

During September 2018, domestic traffic increased in all our airports, with the largest increases in:

Monterrey (+13.7%), with 50% of total domestic traffic, benefitted from increases in the number of passengers on the Mexico City, Cancún and Guadalajara routes.

Culiacán (+22.3%) increased traffic on the Tijuana route.

Ciudad Juárez (+19.7%) increased traffic on the Guadalajara and Mexico City routes.

Chihuahua (+17.3%) increased traffic on the Mexico City route.
- Acapulco (+49.9%) increased traffic on the Mexico City route.
During September 2017, domestic traffic volumes were affected by the effects of Hurricane Max (in Acapulco) and the earthquakes of September 7 and 19 in central and southern Mexico.
In September 2018, Vivaaerobus started flying the Monterrey – Morelia route.
International traffic grew in ten airports in September, with the largest increase in Monterrey (+3.6%), as a result of increases in the number of passengers on the Houston route.
Of total passenger traffic, 99.2% was commercial, and 0.8% was general aviation.
