The event was attended by officers within the Toronto Police Service and the general public. Participants challenged themselves with a max-effort deadlift, max pushups and pull-ups, and max tire flips in 30 seconds of a 360-pound tire.

The event raised over $3000 that will help guide kids towards a better future, as all proceeds benefit skill-building and mentoring programs between police and at-risk youth. ProAction Cops and Kids is a registered charity independent of Toronto Police Service and depends entirely on donations.

“This event and its cause means a lot to me,” says StrengthBox founder Greg Carver. “Bringing youth together with police officers not only builds mutual respect, it makes for safer communities.”

The winners in each of the four divisions were as follows:

Mens Masters:
CP David Montrait of 42 Division deadlifted 425 pounds, did 91 cumulative pushups and pullups and 8 tire flips.

Mens Open:
Jamie Milbrandt deadlifted 445 pounds, did 69 pushups and pullups, and 11 tire flips.

Womens Masters:
Rachel Meikle deadlifted 285 pounds, did 50 pushups and pullups, and 8 tire flips.

Womens Open:
Constantina Varlokostas deadlifted 245 pounds, did 45 pushups and pullups and 7 tire flips.

Carver delivered the money raised to Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders, who affirmed his support for the program. The StrengthBox Challenge will be an annual event.

StrengthBox was established in 2010 by Greg Carver as a Toronto-based industrial gym and coaching facility.
