LogicalDOC 8.1 Makes Barcode Processing More Flexible and Time Saving
Leading document management solutions provider, LogicalDOC, expands barcode reading capabilities for document automation and processing
The new barcode facilities of LogicalDOC 8.1 make it easier, flexible and more efficient for document management. The older version could read several barcode formats (up to 16), and dynamically populate fields and metadata. However, it still had inefficiencies, which have now been removed. The 8.1 version allows creating a ‘filter’ at the OCR level, which can ‘recommend’ the barcode processor for the type of barcode to search for.
The ‘filter’ feature will greatly reduce the processing time for barcode related procedures. Some other features too have now been introduced. A regular expression can now be used to filter codes in a document, for example, retrieving all codes that start with two initial letters and six digits. The new version can also be set up to recognize specific types of barcodes. This makes reading outcomes more certain and reliable. Another new feature added is that ability to interact with the barcode processor during workflow. Users can pilot the reading of a barcode such that the value obtained goes to fill a field or carry out a select action.
