Luanda, ANGOLA, October 1 - The implementation of an electronic control system for inmates, such as ankle monitor, will contribute to the reduction of the problem of prisons overcrowding all over the country. ,

This was defended on Friday, in Luanda, by the director-general of the Penitentiary Services, Jorge Mendonça, on the fringes of the 21st Broad Consultative Council of thisorgan, which started last Thursday.

According to the official, the implementation of ankle monitor will lessen the pressure in the penitentiary establishments and aid in the transportation of the inmates.

However, added the official, in order for this control system to be implemented it is needed the approval of a regulation by the National Assembly.
