UK, Angola discuss parliamentary cooperation
Luanda, ANGOLA, September 19 - The United Kingdom has expressed interest in cooperating with Angola in the Parliamentary field through regular visits by British MPs to Angola and vice versa to deal with matters of common interest.

The information was released Wednesday by British’s Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy Baroness Lindsay Northover at the end of the meeting with the Angolan parliament's Speaker, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.
Lindsay Northover, who is on a five-day working visit to the country, asked Angola to reciprocate the visit the British MPs had paid to the Angolan Parliament, with a view to strengthening the exchange of experiences.
She said that it was important for the MPs from other nations to work together, as there are many global issues such as climate change, migration, among others, that need to be tackled together.
The Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy said that during the meeting she spoke to her interlocutor on the need to launch English-speaking courses in Angola through the International World House Organisation represented in the country.
"We are aware of the need for Angola to learn the English language to strengthen international relations," stressed Lindsay Northover, who expressed satisfaction at Angola's interest in joining the Commonwealth of Nations, which comprises 53 countries.
