Vice-president of Republic back to Luanda

Luanda, ANGOLA, August 27 - Angolan Vice President Bornito de Sousa returned to Luanda from Harare this Monday, where he attended the inauguration ceremony of Zimbabwe's President-elect Emmerson Mnangagwa.,

At  4 de Fevereiro Internationa aiport,  Bornito de Sousa, who represented at the event the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, received welcome greetings from the Minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, Frederico Cardoso, the provincial governor, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, and senior officials of his cabinet.

The inauguration ceremony, which started at 11:00 a.m.,  took place at the National Sports Stadium and was attended by Presidents of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, DRC, Joseph Kabila of Zambia, Edgar Lungu, Rwanda, Paul Kagame, of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Brahim Ghali, among other individuals.

During his stay in Zimbabwe, the Vice-President attended a luncheon hosted by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Sunday and was received this morning by the newest African statesman to whom he delivered a message from the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.

A candidate for the Zimbabwe African National Union - Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) party, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, 71 years old (seventy-two on September 16), won the elections on 30 July this year, with 50.8 percent of the vote.

The Republic of Zimbabwe is a member State of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
