Angola pledges commitment to Siemens for its projects

The pledge came during a guided visit to Siemens facilities in Berlin after his meeting with German counterpart Franks Walter on Thursday morning, as part of his two-day visit to the European country.
The President was led by the chief executive of Siemens to visit the training school and high-voltage technology factory.
The statesman learned about the mechatronics project developed by a group of African trainees, including three Angolans.
João Lourenço said that Angola will not relinquish the contribution of Siemens, adding that the "winning horse does not move".
Operating in Angola since 1960s, Siemens has developed projects in the country in areas such as energy, industry, transport and infrastructure, as well as in the oil and gas market.
The company yields an annual income of 12 billion euros in energy sector.
It built the Chicala substation (Luanda) and supplied gas turbines for some projects such as Angola LNG and Soyo Power Station.
In the field of industry, it equipped important fuel tanks with the automation of Siemens, technology that allows the remote monitoring and technical assistance of these infrastructures with safety.
As for transport and infrastructure, the German group employs around 52,000 workers.
It has more than 1,000 plants worldwide, providing solutions to four airports in Angola, namely Soyo, Dundo, Saurimo and Luena.
In the oil and gas market, Simens is represented in Angola by the "Subsea Service Center".
This is the first center of its kind in the African continent dedicated to the electrification of oil extraction equipment and working in close collaboration with the company's branches in Norway and England.
In the area of training, Siemens has established partnerships with several educational institutions that have been able to equip the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Technology and Science (ISPTEC), Middle Industrial Institute (IMIL) and Soyo-based Polytechnic Institute.
