President accredits German ambassador

Luanda, ANGOLA, August 20 - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, received the credentials letters from the new ambassador of Germany, Dirk Lolke, on Monday afternoon in Luanda.,

 

Graduated in Greek-Roman philology, Dirk Lolke, has already served ambassador to Belgium, Italy and Paraguay.

After his accreditation, Rainer Müller's substitute expressed his willingness to work to contribute to the increase of German business presence in Angola.

He considers it essential to increase German investment, essentially business, aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.

The diplomat believes that the official visit of President João Lourenço to Germany, on the 22nd and 23rd of this month, could contribute positively to facilitate business cooperation.

The volume of business between the two countries is around 500 million euros per year, mainly with Angolan oil exports to the European country.

In 2009, the former Angolan President traveled to Germany and in return, German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited Angola in 2011.
