Honda Rearview Report: August 4 - August 17, 2018

"Within the past week, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recognized two of our light truck products, the 2019 Honda Odyssey and 2019 Acura RDX, for earning the safety organization's highest crashworthiness ratings in their respective segments.

The 2019 Acura RDX achieved the TOP SAFETY PICK+ based on a top rating of "GOOD" in all crashworthiness tests, along with its standard AcuraWatch™ active safety technology that earned a superior rating and available GOOD-rated headlights. This achievement gave the 2019 Acura RDX the highest possible award and safety ratings of any vehicle in its class.

The 2019 Honda Odyssey qualified as a 2018 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK when equipped with available Honda Sensing® and LED headlights. Odyssey was the only minivan tested to earn a "GOOD" rating from IIHS for both the driver and passenger sides in the IIHS Small Overlap Front Crash Test and was the only minivan to receive a "GOOD+" rating in IIHS testing to determine the relative ease of safely installing child safety seats in a vehicle using Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH). No other tested minivan earned above an "ACCEPTABLE" rating in LATCH testing.

Both the Acura RDX and Honda Odyssey were designed, developed and engineered here in the U.S. by Honda R&D Americas. We're really proud of the efforts our U.S. engineering teams put into creating vehicles that please our customers, while also making continuous advances in the important area of safety in Honda and Acura vehicles. This will remain our commitment as we work, step by step, to realize Honda's vision for a mobile society with zero collisions."
