Former Tax Administration employees sent to jail
Luanda, ANGOLA, August 14 - Luanda?s Court condemned on Monday the defendant Nickolas Neto, former admistrator of the General Tax Administration (AGT) to four years and six months time in jail and AKZ 1 million justice fine. ,
Valério Quiohendama and Ngola Mbandi other former AGT employees have also been convicted to five-year jail, while Txifutxi Sambo and João Oliveira had two-year jail time under the accusation of money laundry, tax fraud and passive corruption crimes.
As for other defendants Rita Sebastião ex-wife of Francisco Olo (on the run abroad), Soraia Neto, Nickolas Neto’s wife and Celisa Francisco, Ngola Mbandi’s wife have all been convicted to three-year jail time and four – year suspended prison sentence and AKZ one million fine.
The three women were accused of fiscal fraud cover up and laundry money facilitation perpetrated by former five AGT employees, since it was proven in court that their bank accounts helped to conduct fraud banking transitions.
João Oliveira and António Bastos Mendes (former administrator of the hospital materials and equipment supply Tecnimed company-) were condemned to two-year suspended prison sentence and AKZ 1million fine.
In the meantime, all the defendants are due to hand back AKZ 600 million to the State as solidarity fund in six-month period time under condition of having their conviction being aggravated, should they fail to comply with this court’s imposition.
