Senior officials prepare SADC summit
Luanda, ANGOLA, August 8 - The Standing Committee of Senior Officials of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) will meet on Thursday (9) for the preparation of the 38th Summit of Heads of State and Government of this region.,
The summit of the Heads of State and Government will take place on 17 and 18 this month in the city of Windhoek, Namibia, according to a press release from the Office of Institutional Communication and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that reached ANGOP.
During the working session of the standing committee, the Director-General of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, K.E Mahoai, will give the rotating presidency of this body to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of Namibia, Selma Ashipala-Musawi.
In the framework of the preparation of the summit, there will be sectoral meetings, namely the Finance Committee and the Standing Committee of Senior Officials, the latter for the adoption of the Council's annotated agenda.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers of the regional community happens next Monday (day 13). The Angolan Foreign Minister, Manuel Domingos Augusto, will be attending the event.
