INAD demines over 60,000 square meters

Malanje, ANGOLA, July 20 - At least 60,585 square meters were demined, from April to July this year, by the National Demining Institute (INAD) in Malanje. ,

The land will be used for the construction of the municipal cemetery of Malanje, in the Zela sector.

The information was released on Friday by the head of INAD Provincial Department in Malanje, Marcelina Lima, during the balance of the actions developed by the institution in the first half of this year.

According to the official, during the work, three anti-personnel mines and two anti-tank mines, eight unexploded ordnance, 32 miscellaneous ammunitions were removed and deactivated as well as 9,284 metals collected.

The process involves 46 technicians, including sappers, demolition specialists, nurses, leadership, support and mechanized demining teams.
