AfDB supports reforms in Angola

ANGOLA, July 18 - Sal Island (Cabo Verde) - Angolan Head of State João Lourenço Wednesday received from chairperson of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina, assurances of support for the ongoing economic reforms in Angola. ,

 

The commitment was expressed at the end of a meeting on the fringes of the 12th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) in Sal Island, Cabo Verde.

 

According to AfDB CEO, the economic reforms are important for the country’s stability.

 

To Akinwumi Adesina, the President João Lourenço is laying the foundations for the diversification of the economy and the rapid development of the country.

 

The AfDB manager told the press that he accepted the invitation to visit Angola this year, having pledged additional investments in agriculture.

 

The official suggested greater attention to private business and banking areas, in order to ensure effective economic development of the country.

 

He put the bank's investments in Angola at billions of dollars, in the fields of energy, infrastructure and agriculture.
