Angola with less favorable reference on gender parity

Luanda, ANGOLA, July 18 - Angola has less favorable reference on gender parity, which is far from the goal of 50/50 same as in the statistics, said on Tuesday in Luanda, the minister of Social Action, Family and Woman Promotion, Victória Francisco Correia da Conceição. ,

The official, who was addressing the opening of the workshop on the participation of Angola in the 62nd United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), said the country has made great strides in this field, but, needs to improve its statistics and gender parity.

 

“The experience, so far, tells us that we are walking well, but there are also aspects that still need to be improved”, added the official.

 

The minister also said the participation of Angola in international events is still of great relevance, since it enables to acquire knowledge from informative material made available and trough the exchange of experiences in discussions and working sessions.

 

Angola participated with 28 delegates in the CSW meeting held in US.
