MP suggests industrialization for SADC development
Luanda, ANGOLA, June 28 - Angolan MP Josefina Pitra Diaquité said Wednesday in Luanda that the countries of the SADC region must become active players in international trade, a goal that is focused on industrialization for
the effective growth of their economies.

The MP noted that the southern region of Africa (with around 300 million inhabitants) needs to industrialize itself to improve the living conditions of its populations and to become an active player in international trade.
She said that it is necessary to work for the development of the countries of this region, to take qualitative steps in improving the living conditions of SADC populations and to create more jobs, especially for the youth.
The Angolan MP spoke to the press in her capacity as spokeswoman for the 43rd Assembly of the Plenary Session of the SADC Parliamentary Forum (SADC-PF), whose work began Wednesday in the Angolan capital, Luanda, under the chairmanship of its president, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.
It is in this context that the SADC Parliamentary Forum, recognizing the importance and benefits of the region's economic integration process, has proposed to address in this Plenary Assembly the issue of SADC industrialization and its crucial role in the process of economic integration.
The issue of the transformation of the SADC Parliamentary Forum into a regional parliament, a discussion that has been going on for the last 21 years, is also being analysed in depth at this Plenary Assembly, which is being held at the Angolan Parliament.
Josefina Pitra Diaquité added that the SADC-FP, when it becomes a regional parliament, will have more arguments to support the noble causes of the countries and peoples of the southern region.
