President wants ICT in sustainable development
Luanda, ANGOLA, June 19 - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, stated that Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) can boost the country's sustainable development and improve the business environment.,
João Lourenço was speaking at the opening of the Forum on Information Technologies taking place in Luanda, until Thursday.
He believes that ICT can also contribute to economic inclusion, state reform, good governance, modernization and make bureaucry-free of public service, as well as the emergence of the digital economy and e-government.
According to the Statesman, "it is impossible to envision the future of any company, institution or country without a comprehensive, modern and efficient telecommunications network."
The President reaffirms the Executive's commitment to the promotion and sustainable development of telecommunications services to meet the basic needs of the population, businesses and users throughout the national territory.
He spoke of a telecommunications policy aimed at laying the foundations for a new market structure, which exploited the potential of ICT in the economic, social, cultural and environmental fields.
The President said that the challenge was to overcome the challenge of transforming telecommunications in Angola as a catalyst for development, and to harmonize the system with neighboring countries and with the world to avoid technological exclusion.
