Luanda, ANGOLA, June 8 - The new legislative package on the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) is to be analysed and voted on in general terms in the next plenary ordinary session of the National Assembly (Parliament), scheduled for 21 June.,

ANGOP has learnt that the bills included in the mentioned legislative package are “General Law on Military Service”, “Military Career Law”, “law on Military Ranks” and “Law on Military Decorations”.   

 

On the same day, the MPs will also express their vote on the Bill that Alters the Law on Public Holidays and National Celebration Dates, besides other bills and resolutions, as disclosed to the press, last Thursday, by the spokeswoman of the National Assembly, Emília Carlota Dias.   

 

The proposed Law on Public Holidays and National Celebration Dates introduces two new celebration dates, namely the Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland Day (15 January) and the Cuito Cuanavale Battle Day (23 March).

 

Emília Carlota Dias gave these data in the end of a Conference of Whips of the National Assembly (Angolan Parliament) chaired by its Speaker, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.
