HELENA, MONTANA, UNITED STATES, June 6, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Richard Miltenberger is the new CEO of Mountain Health CO-OP, the board of directors announced this week. Founded in 2012, the nonprofit, consumer-oriented and operated health insurance cooperative serves about 24,000 members in Idaho and 25,000 members in Montana.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Richard to lead the organization,” said Ray Rogers, board chair. “His experience and record of solid leadership are just what’s needed for the CO-OP’s continued growth.”

“I’m thrilled to join the CO-OP and support an affordable health insurance alternative for our members in Idaho and Montana,” said Miltenberger. “I believe strongly that everyone deserves affordable health insurance that focuses on prevention and treats consumers like people rather than commodities.”

Miltenberger added that the CO-OP’s administrative costs have been lower than expectations due to the nonprofit’s emphasis on patient-centered healthcare and easy access to quality primary care.

“The CO-OP model makes common sense for an essential product like health insurance,” Miltenberger said. “It builds trust with our members.”

Miltenberger brings 30 years of experience in finance and marketing, including in senior positions with other health insurers. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of InterWest Health, a regional physician network. Miltenberger and his wife, Katrina, reside near Helena, Montana. They have six adult children and seven grandchildren.
