This follows a joint declaration on the implementation of local governments, presented  by UNITA, CASA-CE coalition, PRS and FNLA parties.

The statement read by the president of CASA-CE, Abel Chivukuvuku, recommends local elections for 2020 in all country’s municipalities.

The document defends reform of the National Electoral Commission (CNE) turning it into a truly independent electoral administration body.

The statement also recommended broad debate on proposals around municipalities.

Abel Chivukuvuku also recommended a new electoral register, as the current central register of voters has alleged irregularities.

According to the politician, the process of implementation of the local authorities has a strategic importance to the country and meets the Angolan citizens expectation.
