Mirex redefines rules for protocol support to entities on overseas missions

Luanda, ANGOLA, May 26 - From now on, entities travelling abroad on official mission and that wish to get protocol support from the Angolan Diplomatic and Consular Missions in these countries must do it by requesting to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex) for a possible authorization. ,

This was confirmed by the Foreign Affairs Minister, Manuel Augusto, while addressing at the closing ceremony of the Eighth Meeting of Ambassadors, held in Luanda since last Wednesday.

Manuel Augusto also said that with the exception of organs of sovereignty and ministers of State, as well as the service movements previously authorized by the Head of State, the end of the protocol support provided by diplomatic and consular missions will be determined for entities that travel on duty abroad.

To him, Mirex will briefly elaborate a circular containing the new norms in this regard, in the context of the new dynamic that is intended for the sector reiterated by the President of the Republic in his speech at the opening ceremony.

Minister Manuel Augusto considered it essential that the objectives of bilateral cooperation, defined in the different branches of activity, be translated into concrete results, from a qualitative and quantitative point of view, paying particular attention to economic and trade relations, financial, business ties, through the establishment of productive private and public-private partnerships.

The top Angolan diplomat said diplomacy should not be exhausted in supporting the external economic projection, should also pay attention to the image of the country in the international order.
