Justice must be able to fight corruption- Attorney General
Luanda, ANGOLA, May 24 - The justice must be an unbreakable blockage that is able to fight corruption, since this is a serious phenomenon that undermines and weakens the baselines and pillars of the society with big consequences. ,
This was said on Wednesday in Luanda by the Angolan Attorney General, Hélder Pitta Grós, while addressing the opening of the “Awareness Programme in the fight against Corruption and Impunity”,
He also compared corruption as a cancer that harms the economic development of the society.
The magistrate highlighted the creation of three acting plan by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, namely for the (prevention, monitoring and accountability), which reveals the dimension of its commitment to the cause of fighting corruption, being currently conducted by Angola.
The magistrate recognized the existence of varied legislation to penalise corruption and criminalize money laundering offenders.
In his turn, the Justice and Human Rights minister, Francisco Queiroz, acknowledged that his sector was affected by corruption and defended urgent promotion of values, transparency, loyalty and rigor.
The seminar, run by the Ministry of Justice, is addressed for its staff.
