Draft legislative package on local governments under public analysis in June
Luanda, ANGOLA, May 22 - The draft legislative package on the organisation and functioning of local governments will be submitted to public consultation in the month of June, during which the society can make contributions to improve the various bills.,
One of the documents in this context is the “Bill on the organisation and functioning of local governments”, which outlines a three-month transition period that allows a smooth transfer to the new local executives of tasks that are under the responsibility of the central government, through the municipal administrations.
This was highlighted last Monday by the minister of Territory Administration and State Reform, Adão de Almeida, when making the presentation of the mentioned draft legislative package, after the Cabinet Council meeting that analysed and approved it.
ANGOP has learnt that the Executive intends to get contributions from the citizens and institutions before submitting the legislative package to the National Assembly (Parliament).
The referred legislative package includes the Bill on the Organisation and Functioning of Local Governments, Bill on Local Elections, Bill on Local Finances, Bill on the Competences of Local Governments, among others.
