Portuguese Defense Minister in Luanda

Speaking to the press at his arrival in Luanda, the minister expressed satisfaction with the transfer of the case of the former vice president of the Republic, Manuel Vicente, to Angola, saying that it is a happy circumstance.
"I will not hide that I prefer to reach Angola with this judicial decision," but he did not fail to remember that the invitation to visit the country was made more than a month ago, and this outcome highlights what has always been the objective, "there is no interference of the judiciary in Portugal", he said.
He pointed out as an objective of his trip to Angola the reinforcement of the technical-military cooperation that since 1983 has allowed to train more than one thousand Angolans of the different branches of the Armed Forces.
The Portuguese official considered the relationship in the field of defense very rich, ancient, profitable and beneficial for both countries.
During his stay in the country, the Portuguese official will review the state of implementation of the cooperation programme between Portugal and Angola, with a view to signing a new programme for the four-year period 2018-2021.
In Luanda, the Defense minister of Portugal will participate in the 17th Meeting of the Portuguese-Angolan Joint Commission.
