Greater local elections dissemination defended

Luanda, ANGOLA, May 10 - The concept and benefits of local elections need greater dissemination among the urban and rural citizens for their better understanding of the process to be held for the first in Angola in 2020 said Wednesday in Luanda by the director of the Center for Debates and Academic Studies (CDEA), Agostinho Sicato.,

The official added that more than an explanation on the gradual implementation of the local elections there is the need for greater spreading of the process and enlightening the citizens on the process.

Agostinho Sicato stated that people still don’t know about local elections as the process has been “excessively” discussed on the model to be implemented, the geographical gradualism or something similar.

Therefore, he critized the government and the political groups for centralizing the discussions on the process rather than the concept, while the people need to know what local elections is, how it works and its benefits.
