SADC experts meet in Luanda
Luanda, ANGOLA, April 23 - Experts from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) are meeting since Monday morning in Luanda to assess the documents to be submitted to the meeting of the heads of diplomacy of these member states.

The SADC summit aims to discuss ways to help the DRC and Lesotho resolve their political and social crisis, as well as consolidate the democratic process in the southern region.
The meeting of experts, which also ends on Monday, will be followed by a meeting of the SADC Foreign Ministers, which will take place in the afternoon, with the objective of preparing the Special Summit of the Region for the Double Troika, at the level of Heads of State and Government, to be held on Tuesday in the Angolan capital.
The work of the expert session is guided by the director for Africa and Middle East of the Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Joaquim do Espírito Santo.
Experts from Angola, DRC, Namibia, Zambia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania and the Kingdom of Lesotho are attending the meeting.
The Kingdom of Lesotho is a SADC member country that is in political crisis, aggravated by the murder of two heads of its armed forces by subordinates in 2015 and 2017, prompting the authorities to request intervention by the regional organization that has deployed , last December, a contingent of 269 staff, including the military, police, intelligence staff and civilians.
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, preparations are underway for the next elections.
