British Foreign minister in Luanda

Luanda, ANGOLA, April 13 - British Foreign and Commonwealth Minister Harriett Baldwin arrived Thursday in Luanda for a 48-hour visit to strengthen relations between the United Kingdom and Angola.,

The British official was received at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Teté António and the UK's ambassador to Angola, Jessica Hand.

Harriett Baldwin's visit happens in the ambit of strengthening cooperation in the economic, demining and women's empowerment fields.

The diplomat also intends to work with the Angolan authorities in the fight against "wildlife Illegal trade", a theme recently debated at the Giant Animals Conference in Botswana, to be analyzed at the World Conference in London in October since the year.

This Friday, the minister is to be received in audience, in the Presidential Palace of the Upper City, by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.

Before she will meet with the Angolan Foreign Minister, Manuel Augusto, with whom she will review matters of bilateral and international interest and with the Ministers of State for Economic and Social Development, Manuel Nunes Júnior, and the Interior, Ângelo da Veiga Tavares.
