AU commissioner wants implementation of agricultural development plan
Luanda, ANGOLA, April 6 - The Commissioner for the Rural Economy and Agriculture of the African Union (AU), Josefa Sacko, on Friday requested the Government to implement the African Agriculture Development Plan adopted by the continent's Heads of State.,
Speaking to journalists at the end of the audience granted by the Vice-President of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa, she said it was necessary to make the operationalization of this program for the development of agriculture in the country.
"This is the reason why we are here to accompany Angola and the progress of implementation of this plan," said the official, noting that her stay in Angola is also part of the implementation of this African strategy by the Angolan Government.
However, she announced the restructuring of the multispectral commission to comply with the continental program of agricultural development adhered by Angola.
The program was established in 2003 and revised in 2014 in the Malabo declaration.
On the other hand, the Commissioner for the Rural Economy and Agriculture of the African Union expressed satisfaction with the launching of two projects on food security and resilience in view of the impacts of climate change in some provinces of Angola.
