PGR reaffirms commitment to fight corruption

Luanda, ANGOLA, March 28 - The Attorney General, Hélder Pitta Gróz, reaffirmed Wednesday the commitment to lead the fight against corruption and repression of money laundering.,

Speaking at the opening of the XXIV General Consultative Council of the Attorney General's Office, Hélder Pitta Gróz said that it was necessary to organize the services to

meet the expectations created during the electoral campaign of the new President of the Republic, regarding the fight against corruption and impunity.

Quoting President João Lourenço, at the inauguration ceremony, according to which "no one is so rich or powerful to feel above the Law and no one is so poor or devoid of property that cannot be defended by the Law."

He considered that the inauguration of the new President of the Republic in September 2018 was the beginning of a dream of creating a more just society and hoping for better days.

He recalled how the PGR's role is to promote defense and control of legality, to investigate the existence of criminal offenses, to defend the collective interest, fundamental rights, freedoms and guarantees, as well as to investigate acts of corruption or fraud by public agents and to prevent and suppress money laundering.
