MP appeals for permanent dialogue within families
Luanda, ANGOLA, March 8 - The chairman of the Group of Parliamentary Women, Luísa Damião, has recently called on the Angolan families to adopt the principles of tolerance, dialogue, respect and understanding, with a view to avoiding conflicts in the homes and violence cases. ,
Speaking at a roundtable meeting, in the ambit of the International Women’s Day (March 08), stressed that there is a need for stronger family cohesion, as well as a stronger sense of cultural and spiritual values.
The MP manifested her concern about the instabilities in families, which sometimes lead to the destruction of family ties, having appealed to social partners, with special emphasis on the churches, to get engaged in a strong campaign of moralising the society for more family unity, valuing of the role of women and eliminating domestic violence.
“We have to cultivate love for others, respect, fraternity, harmony, dignity, tolerance, responsibility, respect for the habits, customs and our traditions, and we need to have good references for the new generations”, she emphasised.
