DALLAS, TEXAS, UNITED STATES, March 2, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- In a continued show of support, in particular for cancer research, Glenn Almack has now promised his backing to the Leukemia Research Foundation via a recent donation.

Almack maintains an ardent interest in the field, having witnessed family members suffer as a result of the disease.

"Not only that," says Almack, "I have a long-standing interest in cancer research based on researching and investing in biotech companies which focus on oncology solutions to end various forms of cancer."

On a more personal level, he adds, "Relatives of mine have experienced the impact of this disease, so I know the difference which cures and treatment solutions can make to sufferers and their families."

In recent months, Dallas native Almack has also made donations to the International Dyslexia Association, the Alzheimer's Association, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas.

The Leukemia Research Foundation, meanwhile, is located in Northfield, Illinois, approximately 30 km north of downtown Chicago.

Founded in 1946, in memory of 12-year-old Sherwin Pessin, the foundation has proudly raised a total of over $72 million.

"We are dedicated to conquering all blood cancers," says the not-for-profit organization, "by funding research into their causes and cures, and enriching the quality of life of those touched by these diseases."

Through donations, the Leukemia Research Foundation provides researchers with the start-up funds required to conduct groundbreaking cancer research projects.

The foundation also offers financial assistance to those battling the disease itself, in an effort to relieve some of the associated stress of dealing with a diagnosis of leukemia or other forms of blood cancer.

"We provide financial assistance to qualified patients and families," says the foundation. "Our program reimburses almost any treatment-related expense not covered by your medical insurance."

"This organization," continues Glenn Almack of the Leukemia Research Foundation, "provides grants to researchers investigating and developing new approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of leukemia and other blood cancers."

He adds, "Many of these researchers are in the early stages of their careers, and bring new ideas to the table in terms of treatment, and in identifying potential cures for these diseases."

"New ideas lead to new treatment approaches, but only if researchers receive the necessary backing," concludes Almack. "That's why I'm so keen to pledge my support personally."
